A group of celebrity co-ordinators at charities including Mencap and the British Red Cross have set up a forum to discuss good practice for dealing with celebrities.
The second of what will become monthly gatherings will be held at Frank's Upstairs bar in London's Mayfair on Friday.
Six people attended the first session, including co-founder Claire Cook, who is head of fundraising publicity at the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.
"The role of the celebrity officer is becoming more popular," said Cook.
"We'll look at how to manage each charity's expectations of our roles, as well as the benefits and pitfalls of getting celebrities involved in charity."
