Guide Dogs For The Blind is hoping to improve the public's awareness of eye health through a new campaign spreading the message about proper eye care. The Healthy Eyes Campaign will run through a website, www.healthyeyes.org.uk, which will include tips on how to look after your eyes and information about specific eye conditions, as well as what happens when you have an eye test. The site also contains a National EyeQ Survey, designed to establish the public's knowledge and habits in relation to eye care.
The campaign is sponsored by not-for-profit healthcare organisation HealthSure and was launched at the London Eye this month, where a giant eye was projected onto the ground. Guests were invited to look at the view of London through the eyes of a visually impaired person by using specially designed 'simulator spectacles'.
