COMMUNICATIONS NEWS: It's a dogs right

Dog welfare charity NCDL is launching an awareness campaign encouraging dog owners to get their pets neutered. The campaign runs from 3 October to 30 November and runs across TV, radio, newspaper inserts, doordrops and leaflets in local supermarkets. The campaign targets low-income households in four major cities with acute stray dog problems - Belfast, Manchester, Newcastle and Cardiff. Media strategies have been tailored to each area, with a TV ad being shown on Ulster TV and owners in Northern Ireland being offered the chance to win £1,000 in a prize draw. NCDL is offering free neutering operations for dogs whose owners receive means-tested benefit in Northern Ireland and Wales, as these have a particularly large stray dog population.
