The Dogs Trust is targeting nearly 2 million households with a new campaign encouraging dog-owners on means-tested benefits to get their pets neutered. The initiative aims to let recipients know that getting a pet neutered through the Dogs Trust could save each dog-owning household up to £95. The 'Save Your Dog for just £25' leaflet shows a dog's chalk outline on a road as a way of warning people that unneutered dogs risk being lost or hit by cars as they look for a mate. As a further incentive, the charity is running a competition where dog-owners neutering their pets through one of the charity's centres are entered into a £1,000 prize draw.
