COMMUNICATIONS NEWS: Liberty adds chat room to improve its 'awful' web site

Human rights organisation Liberty has relaunched its web site and admitted its old one was "awful".

The new site,, first went live in February but the charity has kept it quiet until now so it could resolve any technical problems.

Director of development Steven Montgomery said he wants the new site to "re-engage people with democracy".

"The old site was just awful; poorly designed and reflected our structure first," he said. "The new one puts issues at the forefront and information about who we are second."

The relaunched site has added a discussion board, Talking Liberties, and a campaigns section, where people can adapt a draft letter to send to their MP.
