COMMUNICATIONS NEWS: Lung Foundation creates video for disease sufferers

The British Lung Foundation has launched a new video to provide lung-disease sufferers with more information about local support groups.

The "Fighting for Breath

project is also designed to encourage industry and medical professionals to work with the Breathe Easy Club, the charity's nationwide network of support groups.

The video is a joint project between the British Lung Foundation, the Department of Health and Allen %26 Hanbury's and Abbott Laboratories, and has received the backing of Yvette Cooper MP, the minister for public health.

Leading medical experts appear in the video to highlight recent medical advances in lung disease and to explain how more can be done to fight the disease.

Dame Helena Shovelton, chief executive of the British Lung Foundation said: "We can't defeat lung cancer on our own. Lung disease places such a huge burden on the NHS and on employers that it makes sense for us to work together."
