Communications News: Media Trust to offer cut-price volunteer recruitment TV ads

Charities are being offered the opportunity to make a volunteer-recruitment film at reduced cost.

The Media Trust is offering 25 charities with a turnover of less than £2m the chance to make a three-minute film through its production arm Volunteer Films. The films can be dramatic or factual, and ideas should be submitted as soon as possible as filming needs to be finished by the end of March.

The best suggestions will be made into films and broadcast on the Community Channel throughout the year. They will have interactive capability so viewers can pledge their time via the red button on their remote controls.

Film-makers involved so far include Matt Whiteman, director of reality TV show Musicality and the makers of Days That Shook The World - Hiroshima.
