This photograph formed part of international development charity World Vison's 'Poverty Over?' awareness campaign, which won the not-for-profit category of the Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards last week. Crosses were placed on a remote beach in Scotland while a bagpiper played a traditional funeral lament representing the 30,000 children who are killed every day by poverty around the world. Judges commended the integrated marketing campaign, which included black and white portraits of children, for being "delivered with incredible insight, through a powerful creative strategy that really hit home while providing a compelling call to action".
