Communications News: Paralympic team to play basketball for disabled worldwide

The paralympic bronze-winning Great Britain wheelchair team is to play its Guatemalan counterparts to launch a campaign highlighting the plight of disabled people in developing countries.

International development charity World Emergency Relief will start its Wheels of Change campaign on 3 December - the UN International Day of Disabled Persons.

"Having a disability in a developing country often means not having a life worth living," said Alex Haxton, the charity's director of operations.

"Despite this, UK donors just don't respond well to appeals for disability projects such as ours."

The charity will email supporters about the issue and invite them to the basketball match at Stoke Mandeville stadium.
