Communications News: Report emphasises single homes need

Homelessness charity Broadway is targeting 250 housing sector decision makers and sending them a report that outlines the need for permanent housing for London's single homeless people.

MPs, local authorities and registered social landlords will receive the report, entitled All packed up with nowhere to go, which is based on the findings of a focus group with 150 homeless people.

They said the main issues concerned the shortage of affordable housing, the number of empty properties and the stigmatisation because of their homeless status.

The charity has asked the report's recipients to make clients a written commitment to improve their housing situation.
