COMMUNICATIONS NEWS: Stand up for your rights

Shelter, Homeless Link and The Big Issue have joined forces for a massive billboard poster campaign "Things Have Changed". The initiative tells homeless people about their new rights under the Homelessness Act which came into force at the end of July. JC Decaux has donated five billboard sites in Manchester and nine in London. The three organisations are also distributing 100,000 leaflets and 5,000 posters to vendors and gatekeeper organisations such as hostels and refuges. The organisations are concerned that many homeless people may not get the housing help they are entitled to because they are unaware of their new rights.
