Communications News: Tide of emotion

This stark image of the aftermath of another Bangladeshi flood forms part of an Action Aid photographic exhibition showing the daily plight faced by the nation's inhabitants. The 'Walking 20 Years' event marks two decades of the charity's work in Bangladesh, where it strives to achieve decent living standards for local people. The photos were taken by Mahmud Rahman and will be displayed from 28 June to 9 July at the Brady Arts and Community Centre in Whitechapel, London. They are designed to raise awareness of the constant flooding and resultant needs of the country's poverty-stricken people and attempt to show the connection between Bangladeshis living there and in London.
