Communications News: Timebank film gets Refugee Week slot

A short film about Timebank's 'Time Together' refugee mentoring scheme will be shown at the National Film Theatre during its Refugee Week programme, which starts on 14 June.

The film shows how two mentors are trained and explores their relationships with refugees. It will be shown during a season of refugee-related films at the London venue to attract volunteers to the 18-month-old scheme, which matches volunteers with refugees. The charity will burn the film onto DVDs to be distributed to those who request it.

Timebank hopes that the raising of its profile in the media this month will lead to sustainable Home Office funding.
