Concrete fundraising - not a load of bull

A scout group in Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, is celebrating 100 years of scouting by producing 100 miniature versions of the concrete cow sculptures that are permanently displayed in a grassy field in Milton Keynes.

Each of the mini-cows, which are 25cm long and weigh about 3.5kg, has been painted by members of the scout group and includes a miniature scout neckerchief. The cows are on sale this week on www.mkcows.com.

The first 20 are priced at £10 each, the next 20 at £15 each, the 20 after that at £20 and the next 20 are £50 each. The last 20 will be sold on eBay.

Mark Cain, assistant leader of the Saints Scout Group, said: "Everyone who has seen one of these little cows has instantly fallen in love with them. Potential purchasers will have to be quick, though."
