Continence charities merge

Bowel and bladder charity Incontact has taken over the activities of the Continence Foundation, which has shut down after losing two major donors.

Incontact will incorporate the objectives and key services of the foundation as part of a new mission. Its interests will be the provision of support and information to people affected by bladder and bowel related problems, raising awareness and understanding of these issues, and providing a voice for patients.

The two charities said that having a single body for all services would lead to better use of resources and personnel, simpler governance and less duplication of back-office work.

It will also provide a single voice in campaigning and a more attractive proposition for funders.
