Cook rejoins Third Sector as editor to enhance coverage

Stephen Cook, former managing editor of news at The Guardian, is to become editor of Third Sector.

After starting his journalism career in local newspapers in Yorkshire, Cook moved to the BBC World Service and then spent 16 years at The Guardian in various roles. He turned freelance seven years ago and was Third Sector's associate editor throughout 2003.

Tania Mason has been promoted to deputy editor in addition to her existing role as news editor.

Cook said: "I'm looking forward to joining Third Sector's dynamic team, which has already made it the leading magazine in its field. We'll be looking for new ways to serve and interest our readers."

Rufus Olins, managing director of Haymarket Management Publications, said: "I am delighted to have appointed Steve and Tania to take Third Sector to the next level."
