Deep Purple star gets involved with Henley Festival Orchestra

Keyboard player Jon Lord composes classical piece for the youth orchestra, run by the charity that benefits from the Henley Festival in July

The musician Jon Lord, best known as the keyboard player with the rock group Deep Purple, will compose a piece of classical music for the Henley Festival Orchestra, which is run by the charity the Henley Festival Trust.

The piece will be premiered at next year’s event.

All proceeds from the annual Henley Festival go to the trust, which finances charitable activities in the area.

The orchestra provides musical instrument tuition and performance opportunities for more than 70 children from the Thames Valley area.
