Diabetes UK wins Everyclick competition

Diabetes UK has beaten 550 entrants to win a nationwide outdoor advertising campaign in a fundraising challenge that asked charities to raise as much money as possible using Everyclick.com.

The charity will have 1,500 posters displayed across the UK from July after taking first prize in the large charities category and being named the overall winner.

The fundraising competition, run in partnership with outdoor advertiser Clear Channel Outdoor, challenged all UK charities to encourage their supporters to raise as much money as possible over three months through the Everyclick.com search engine, which donates 50 per cent of its advertising revenue to charity.

Categories were divided into small, medium and large charities. Entries were judged on how much money was raised per supporter and the innovative ways charities encouraged people to use Everyclick.com.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust won the medium-sized charities prize and the Arnold Foundation for Rugby School won the small charities category.

Given the amazing prize of a nationwide advertising campaign, I was not surprised to see such a massive response, said Lindsay Boswell, chief executive of the Institute of Fundraising and a member of the judging panel. What took my breath away, though, was the quality of the nominations. They showed innovation, commitment and passion – the hallmarks of great fundraising.
