Direct Debt Line becomes Money Advice Plus

Advice charity to rebrand

Money advice charity Direct Debt Line is changing its name to Money Advice Plus.

The charity said it was making the change because it wanted to move to a name that reflected "a more positive brand".

Gail Biggerstaff, chief executive of the charity, said the old name focused too much on debt and could be associated with debt collection rather than helping people deal with their financial problems.

"We expect the rebrand to make a big difference to the future of the charity," she said. "We've already had really positive feedback from our current funding partners, and from potential partners and other agencies."

The charity will adopt the new name on 20 July.
