Eiris launches new ethical funds index

Ethical investment analyst Eiris has launched a new searchable database of ethical funds so potential investors can look for the best product to meet their specific criteria.

The index, which is designed for financial advisers and consumers, is particularly relevant for financial advisers to charities that are looking for funds to match the detailed ethical policies their clients require.

Unlike Eiris's Charity SRI website, which provides background information and advice about formulating SRI policies, the new database focuses on profiles of individual ethical funds, and includes details of screening criteria and voting rights.

"This would be particularly useful for financial advisers who have charity clients," said Mark Robertson, press spokesman at Eiris.

"The spectrum of funds is wider than on the Charity SRI site and could be relevant to charities that want a bit more detail."
