Every dog has his day at work to raise cash for pet charity

The country's bosses would be well advised to be on their best behaviour today as more than a thousand dogs accompany their owners to work to raise money for pet charity the Blue Cross.

The 12th annual Take Your Dog To Work Day will see dog owners engaging in a variety of fundraising activities, including passing collection boxes around their workplaces and sponsored dog walks during lunch hours.

Caroline Reay, chief veterinary surgeon at the charity’s animal hospital in Merton, London, said: “Having a dog in the office can often be a great ice breaker, which helps to boost the team spirit at work. It might not be practical for you to always take your dog to work with you, but this event enables you to give your dog a new experience and different mental stimulus for the day.”
