What's the busiest time of year for your team?

The cliched answer is that we're always busy, but it's true. Compliance around audit is a chunk of the job, but supporting financial management, investment decisions and business planning are all year-round concerns.

What's the best thing about working for Breast Cancer Care?

The fact that our mission of supporting anybody affected by breast cancer runs through the charity and our amazing volunteers and supporters.

What would you have done if you'd not gone into charity finance?

My wife would have said "pro cyclist" a few years ago when I was doing 200-odd miles a week. I still commute most days, but I think my weakness for chocolate and the odd glass of wine might also have scuppered any Team Sky contract.

What's the furthest out of your comfort zone your job has taken you?

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our head of community had me crawling on the roof, wearing a pair of pink dingle boppers, pretending to be a tiger and miming to a Freddy Mercury song. I think he was just getting his own back after the annual budget round.
