Drake has recently returned from Rwanda, where he worked for the Office of Tony Blair assisting Rwandan prime minister Bernard Makuza in establishing the country's first co-ordination unit, which will help to implement the government's top priorities across the country. Drake's predecessor, Colette Marshall, was in the role for four years and has left to have a baby. "My experience of working in Whitehall, in the private sector and in development overseas has equipped me with a range of influencing and delivery skills to drive forward our vision of ending child poverty in the UK by 2020," said Drake.
