Venture philanthropy organisation the Impetus Trust has recruited Daniela Barone Soares as its new chief executive.
Soares joins the organisation from Save the Children, where she was head of institutional support. She successfully oversaw the restructure of her department and helped to increase income by £7.4m, or 60 per cent, in the first year after the restructure.
Soares said: "Impetus can demonstrate a tangible impact in helping charities make a step change in their performance by using the models and methodology of the venture capital world.
"My role will be to get this message across more widely so that charity funders can be sure their money is making a real difference."
Stephen Dawson, chairman of Impetus, said: "Daniela is ideal because she bridges the business and non-profit worlds in the same way as we do."
- Judith Brodie, the former chief executive of the trust, left in January.
