Finance News: CAF appoints Heart Foundation boss to newly created role

The Charities Aid Foundation will appoint Alan Jeffs to the new role of business support director next January.

Jeffs will depart the British Heart Foundation at Christmas after three years as head of HR. He will oversee HR, marketing and new media support at CAF, as well as looking after its business systems and administration facilities.

Stephen Ainger, chief executive of CAF, said: "We needed someone from a business and charity background to manage the growing use of new media and our marketing campaigns, so we placed it all together under Jeffs."

The role emerged after CAF's internal restructure this summer, which placed the PR, research and policy department under its external affairs division, managed by Simon Hebditch, in order to make it easier for the organisation to improve its lobbying work.

The British Heart Foundation started the first round of interviews to find a replacement for Jeffs last week.
