Finance News: CAF in plan to offer investment training to sector personnel

A new course for charity managers and trustees taking their first steps in investment is among the highlights of the Charities Aid Foundation’s latest training programme for the sector.

The course will cover the basic principles of successful investment, from the selection of asset classes to legal issues.

The approach needed to encourage companies to adopt ‘give as you earn’ schemes is also covered by a November seminar in the capital. It will also examine tailoring donor recruitment promotions to different work environments.

It will take place in London on 22 November.

Other courses available include a series of workshops on tax effective giving in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Cardiff, which run from September to January 2005.
