FINANCE NEWS: Community care

Representatives from Social Enterprise London, the Department of Trade and Industry, the London Development Agency and three London-based community nurseries went to Stockholm last month to learn from the city's social enterprise-based approaches to childcare. Among the nurseries they visited was the Maria Gamla Stans refugee pre-school (pictured). The group also examined the legal structures available for Swedish social enterprises and how they could be adapted to influence the UK government's proposals for the Community Interest Company.
