Finance News: Debra adopts Open Accounts software for financial needs

Health charity Debra has started using a new financial management software programme.

The organisation, which works on behalf of people with Epidermolysis Bullosa, has chosen software from Open Accounts.

The system is being used for general ledger, purchase ledger, budgeting and executive desktop reporting. The previous accounting software was judged to be too simplistic to cope with increasing demands on the charity.

Lynda Ponting, director of finance at Debra, said: "We are now able to produce a much greater depth of analysis than before, something which will enable us to maintain and build upon our current level of growth. We were looking for a solution that could grow with the charity and Open Accounts can do that."

Debra's beneficiaries have a genetic skin blistering condition. Around 5,000 people have the condition in the UK.
