Finance News: Finance consultant publishes guide to investment classes

A free booklet advising trustees on appropriate investments for charitable funds has been published by independent financial services group NCL Smith & Williamson.

Discussion of Asset Classes for Charities is based on the Charity Commission guidance.

It examines asset classes including equities, tradable and non-tradable debt, rental property and units in collective investment schemes.

It examines the characteristics of each asset class and explores associated risks and returns.

"In this deregulated environment and after publication of CC14 by the Commission, this provides trustees with a reference guide to the available asset classes," said David Myrddin-Evans, head of charities investment management.
