Finance News: Happy valley

A £215,000 loan from the Charity Bank to Welsh charity Valley Kids has allowed it to buy a residential centre for disadvantaged children and families in a remote area of the Gower Peninsula. The 26-year-old charity has leased the Little Bryn Gwyn Centre for the past three years and has always dreamed of buying it, said development co-ordinator Denise Lord. Valley Kids will now be able to improve and expand the facilities and activities it provides, which include canoeing, mountain biking, and drama classes, as well offering as a safe environment for families. Attempts will continue to raise £100,000 to renovate the building.
