Finance News: New service set up to provide property management help

A new service has been launched to help charities to manage their properties.

The Virtual Property Director is intended to provide property expertise on call.

It includes preparation of annual budgets, financial analysis, landlord and tenant management, relocation, trustee communication and the procurement of facilities-management services.

Andrew Morgan of Jonathan Edwards Consulting, which runs the service, said: "There is increasing pressure to drive down all operational and overhead costs, to get improved value for money and performance from all resources serving the organisation.

"Property is seen as inflexible, and the property market is not turned towards the needs of occupiers who don't employ internal property professionals."

The firm has clients in the voluntary sector including Diabetes UK, the Stroke Association and the Salvation Army.
