Finance News: Triodos bank hires Scotland manager as business grows

Specialist charity sector bank Triodos has appointed its first ever Scotland-based manager, signalling an expansion of its work throughout the UK.

David Cousland, who currently works in the bank's Bristol head office, has been appointed to the new post and will be based permanently in Scotland.

Triodos has already made more than £5m in loans to Scottish third sector organisations, and the latest move is likely to signal a further increase in deposit and loan activity.

Managing director Charles Middleton said: "With Scotland's ethical businesses and organisations set to grow, we believe there is a very real appetite for Triodos Bank's services. Establishing a permanent presence in Scotland represents one of the most important developments in Triodos Bank's history in the UK.

"With Scotland's traditional commitment to charities and political movements, Triodos has already attracted thousands of Scottish people to become ethical savers and investors," added Cousland.
