FINANCE NEWS: Y Care links up with the Co-op Bank for affinity card range

Y Care International, the overseas development agency of the YMCA, has signed an affinity card deal with the Co-operative Bank.

The deal, the first ever of this kind for Y Care, involves the launch of two Platinum cards and a standard credit card.

In the deal, Y Care receives £5 for every account opened and £10 for each card used within six months. Subsequently, the bank will donate 25p of every £100 spent on the cards.

Y Care president Terry Waite commented: "This is a wonderful partnership for our 20th anniversary year. It will help to provide us with valuable funds for our projects, now and in the future."

A spokeswoman for the Co-operative Bank said: "With affinity cards like this the charity earns much needed funds, the Bank gains new customers and the cardholder has the satisfaction of supporting Y Care International at no cost to themselves."
