Finance: Overseas fund for investment firm

Investment management firm Sarasin Chiswell has launched a new fund that will invest in overseas equities.

The Sarasin International Equity Income Fund is one of a spate of new launches by the firm aimed at institutional investors, including charities.

The fund will be actively managed with a portfolio of 50 stocks and is aiming for strong dividend growth and a yield of 3 per cent.

The firm said the new fund would provide diversification for investors who are reliant on UK equities.

Guy Monson, chief investment officer at Sarasin Chiswell, said: "It is now possible to construct a diversified portfolio of international equities that offers a comparable yield to the UK equity market, but with the potential for superior dividend growth and returns."
