Finance: Stanley appoints sector specialist

Nicholas Pearson, the chairman of the Charity Investors Group, has been appointed to lead the development of Charles Stanley's charity asset management business.

Pearson developed the first ever charities specialist division in the investment management industry when he was at Cazenove in the late 1980s.

He was responsible for setting up the Charities Aid Foundation's first two common investment funds, and has also worked for Close Brothers.

Michael Clark, director at Charles Stanley, said: "Nicholas is one of the most respected individuals in the charity field.

"I am confident that his experience and expertise will add a new dimension to our charity capabilities."
