The Charity Finance Directors' Group is to forge a closer relationship with fellow umbrella bodies the Institute of Fundraising and Acevo.
The finance group's three-year strategy for 2006 to 2009 contains a commitment to collaboration with other organisations, "to explain publicly the economic realities of running a charity".
Co-operation could extend to joint campaigns and a shared training and development unit with both Acevo and the institute.
The three would like to co-ordinate their responses to changes such as the forthcoming Charities Bill.
"We are approaching legislative change from three slightly different directions, banging three slightly different drums," said Shirley Scott, chief executive of the CFDG. "But we often want the same things. Co-ordinating campaigns is an area we would like to see improved."
- The CFDG is to build a closer relationship with Acevo and the Institute of Fundraising
- This could include joint campaigns and shared development and training
- The three umbrella bodies could also co-ordinate responses to changes such as the new Charities Bill.
