The organisation was created on 9 October from the merger of the Association of Payroll Giving Agencies and the Association of Payroll Giving Professional Fundraising Organisations (Third Sector, 12 September).
Caroline Peat, chair of the new body, said the organisation's training element could be in place by summer next year. This could involve a series of breakfast seminars, with business representatives sharing their experiences with members.
Peat said the group would also like charities to become members and to attend meetings to discuss their payroll giving issues.
The association has launched www.apgo.org.uk, which gives visitors the chance to share information through a forum.
