Focus: Corporate Responsibility - Side by side Care and FTC Kaplan

Accountancy trainer FTC Kaplan has become an official partner of Care International and sponsor of its new outdoor challenge event for the accountancy sector, the FTC Kaplan Three Peaks Challenge. It is hoped the event will raise £150,000 to help support Care's overseas educational programmes.

Why did you choose this partnership?

FTC Kaplan was attracted to our series of corporate challenge events because of a common interest in education. We then presented a proposal for a challenge exclusively for the accountancy industry.

How do you benefit?

The significant amount of money raised from the challenge will go towards supporting Care's global education programmes, aimed at improving literacy rates in developing countries.

Did you have any reservations?

When promoting one of our events to a new industry, there is always a question mark over how popular it will be. Fortunately, the take-up from the accountancy sector has been fantastic.

What are your plans for the partnership?

We hope the challenge will be a great event for many years. Long-standing sponsorship agreements are key to our success.

Why did you choose this partnership?

Our ethos is about building better futures through learning. We were interested in the Care programme because its mission is closely aligned with ours.

How do you benefit?

The spirit of the Care event publicly reflects our corporate values of providing education. It's also a great chance to bring the accountancy community together.

Did you have any reservations?

Our only reservation was that the event would be too popular. This has proved true - we are now having to turn teams away.

What are your plans for the partnership?

FTC Kaplan trains more than 40,000 people each year, all of whom will be exposed to what we are doing with Care. We are also committed to an annual event to raise money in support of Care's global programmes, including education.
