Focus: Fundraising - Sightsavers International exhibition

Earnest Hemingways Fashion designer and TV pundit Wayne Hemingway's portrait of himself with his wife is part of a Sightsavers International exhibition. Celebrities including chef Gordon Ramsay, singer Annie Lennox, photographer Mary McCartney and actress Joanna Lumley were asked to capture the images they would most miss if they lost their sight. The pictures will be shown alongside photographs taken by children in Bangladesh who have had their sight restored by surgery funded by the charity. Thirty-seven million people around the world are blind, but three-quarters of those cases could be easily and cheaply treated or prevented. The exhibition is on display outside the London Eye on the South Bank until the end of the month and is free of charge.
