Foot in the door

Auric Afrani, 23, a former resident of Centrepoint's Bruce House in Covent Garden, London, is one of eight players to join the England team for the Homeless World Cup in Sweden this summer. Afrani, winner of the golden boot at the Foyer Federation National Cup held in Belfast in January, has found a job and accommodation in south London thanks to the training and support he received from Centrepoint. "It all seems to have come together at once, getting my own place and now representing my country at the Homeless World Cup," he said. Some 32 countries will participate in this year's competition. Centrepoint chief executive Anthony Lawton said: "Auric has done us proud."
