FRSB launches two Christmas campaigns for charity donors

Give with Care and Give with Confidence are backed by the Office of the Third Sector

The Office of the Third Sector will support two separate Christmas charity campaigns being run by the Fundraising Standards Board this year: one called Give with Care, the other Give with Confidence.

Through Give with Care, the OTS will encourage members of the public to look out for fake charity clothing collection sacks. It will produce leaflets that will be distributed to households alongside genuine clothing collection bags from charities.

The Give with Confidence campaign has been set up to increase charitable giving at Christmas by encouraging MPs to ask their constituents to donate. Angela Smith, Minister for the Third Sector, has signed a letter that will be sent to all MPs asking them to use the local press to increase support for charities.

An OTS spokesman said he did not think there would be confusion between the two campaigns.

"The names are similar and both campaigns are about raising public awareness," he said. "But they have different purposes, and I think this is clear."
