The five organisations, covering Bevington, Heswall and District, Hoylake and District, Wallasey and Wirral, have established a shadow board and expect the move to be approved by members in the autumn.
It is the latest in a string of CVS mergers that have been announced in recent weeks. The new organisation, called Community Voluntary Action Wirral, is expected to be launched in April 2008.
Annette Roberts, chief officer at Bevington CVS, said the merger was mainly motivated by concerns over future funding. "Funders are looking more regionally, rather than just across a district," she said.
