Fundraisers plan online community

A new international group of young fundraisers plans to set up a community on social networking site Ammado to share ideas and reach more members.

The International Fundraising Congress's young fundraisers group wants to enable young people to have their views represented at future IFC conferences by identifying new speakers and encouraging them to attend the event.

The group, which met for the first time at the International Fundraising Congress in the Netherlands last month, operates on an informal basis through networking events and by email.

Jon Duschinski, one of two IFC board members who will represent the group's interests, said: "We believe there is talent, not just among the younger fundraisers, but also among a lot of people whose ideas are not coming to the fore, often because they don't have access to the usual conference machinery."
