Fundraising: CAF sets 30 per cent Giving Week target

SimplySwitch, the pricing comparison and energy switching service, is showing its support for National Giving Week by offering new customers a £10 charity gift voucher to donate to their chosen cause.

'Make more of a difference' is the theme of this year's Giving Week, organised by Charities Aid Foundation.

CAF has resumed its relationship with the Daily Mail, which will run competitions with financial prizes that winners can donate to their chosen charities. The Kent Messenger Group, Community Channel, Premier Christian Radio, and AOL are also running giveaways.

Terry Bryan, campaign manager at CAF, said: "We can't afford to run a large advertising campaign, so we are working with various groups to draw attention to the week."

Last year, in the campaign's pilot year, surveys showed that 20 per cent of the adult population were aware of the campaign, with 13 per cent saying they had increased their level of giving as a direct result of it.

This year, CAF aims to reach 30 per cent, and is aiming for a fifth of those to increase their giving.
