The guide, funded by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, is a revision of a document published in 2003. The new version contains more job-specific information designed to help fundraisers improve their working knowledge and practice.
There are new sections on grant fundraising, corporate fundraising, major gifts and direct marketing. The standards have been cross-referenced with the Institute of Fundraising’s codes of fundraising practice.
“This freely available resource will help paid fundraisers, volunteers and employers to perform better in their roles,” said Carrick Allison, director of professional development at the institute. “It will help them to enhance the quality of service to donors and build the resources available to their organisations to make a genuine difference to society.”
