The Arthritis Research Campaign is aiming to raise £3m over three years for its childhood arthritis appeal, which is being launched with the help of Enid Blyton's most famous creation, Noddy.
Chorion, the classic-brands company , which owns the rights to the 1950s children's character, has lent Arthritis Research Campaign the right to use Noddy for the campaign.
Noddy badges, alongside those of fellow characters Big Ears and PC Plod, will be sold through high-street retailers, and a Noddy Walks Britain event is planned for next spring.
The charity funds research into juvenile idiopathic arthritis at Great Ormond Street Hospital and funds specialist posts around the country.
