Fundraising News: Avon Cosmetics to help Breakthrough in Cancer Crusade

Breakthrough Breast Cancer is to benefit from the sale of three new products created by Avon as part of the cosmetics brand's activity for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Avon Cosmetics is basing its Breast Cancer Crusade campaign for this year's October awareness month on the theme of friendship, in order to encourage more women to be open about the topic with their friends.

The campaign is fronted by the face of Avon Colour, actress Tamzin Outhwaite, and will include branded fundraising merchandise, public relations, a website and an online survey.

In keeping with the friendship theme, Avon has produced a friendship ribbon-pin, a pink pen with silver ribbon design, and a faux-suede 'Book of Friends' address and phone number book. All three will be sold by Avon's 160,000 representatives.

The PR activity is intended to bring about more early detection of the disease.
