Fundraising News: Bikers ride to help children's hospice

Motorcyclists have raised more than £3,500 for the Little Haven Children's Hospice in the sixth annual Shakedown ride from the Ace Cafe in London to Southend-on-Sea.

Around 15,000 riders took part in the event on Easter Bank Holiday Monday, raising money through a street collection and the sale of commemorative pin badges for bike leathers.

The Ace Cafe approached the Friends of Little Haven five years ago to suggest a fundraising partnership. The annual event has since raised a total of almost £11,000 for the hospice.

The charity provides specialist care for children with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses and their families from Essex and Outer London.
