FUNDRAISING NEWS: Brook creates two posts in bid to raise profile and income

Youth sexual health charity Brook has created two senior positions at its head office as part of a long-term strategy to increase income and raise its profile.

The new appointments, which are funded through core income, are in the fundraising and communications departments.

Claire Frankland, who previously freelanced for the Bat Conservation Trust, has joined Brook as fundraising manager. Frankland is the charity's first dedicated fundraiser and will focus on increasing the number corporate donors and trust supporters.

Emma Charvet has also joined the charity as head of communications after working at the British Association for Adoption and Fostering and the Samaritans.

"Brook already has a good profile, but I would like to do more to promote our advice helpline by building relationships with teen magazines and web sites," she said.
