FUNDRAISING NEWS: CAF online service attracts £100,000 internet pledges

Charities have raised more than £100,000 using the Charities Aid Foundation's (CAF) online donation facility.

More than 35 charities have been testing the Efundraising system, which allows any organisation with a web site to link to a customised donations page where supporters can make secure credit and debit card donations.

"This is a development of the existing services we provide to the sector, and is a natural progression that will allow many charities to significantly boost their online revenue,

said Paula Rixon, business development manager at CAF. "We see ourselves as a full fundraising support service for charities and we're basically providing a simple way for charities to enhance their existing web site and also encourage repeat visits."

The site template can be adapted to include the charity's logo, colour scheme and editorial style. The organisation is to add a new facility which will allow charities to accept donations for multiple appeals through the same web page.

CAF processes donations, with charges of up to £5 dependant on the size of the donation, and handles all administration.
